Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Thumb Grabber. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Agreement to terms

By using Thumb Grabber, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site. These terms are governed by applicable consumer-protection and copyright law in your jurisdiction.

What the service does

Thumb Grabber is a free web tool that fetches publicly available thumbnail images from YouTube videos and lets you save them to your device. The service is intended for personal, educational, and commentary use. We don't host, store, distribute, or modify any video content from YouTube — we only fetch the image URLs that YouTube's CDN serves publicly to every page on the internet.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. If you're between 13 and 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Thumb Grabber only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you agree not to: use the tool to harass or defame someone; pass off downloaded thumbnails as your own original design; use automated systems to make a large number of requests in a short period (it's a single-user tool, not an API); attempt to disrupt the service; or use downloaded content in any way that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights.

Intellectual property

Every thumbnail you download remains the copyrighted property of the original creator and/or YouTube. Thumb Grabber claims no rights over any downloaded image. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any thumbnail in any context, especially commercial. Fair-use exceptions (commentary, criticism, parody, education) vary by country — when in doubt, ask the creator.

Third-party advertising

The site displays third-party advertisements via Google AdSense. We don't control which specific ads appear, don't endorse anything you see in them, and aren't responsible for the products or services advertised. Your interaction with advertisers is between you and them.

Third-party links

Some pages link to third-party websites (most notably YouTube). We're not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or behavior of those sites.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" with no warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that every YouTube URL will work, that every video will have a maxres thumbnail, or that the service will always be online. We do our best to keep it working — but YouTube can change its CDN structure at any time and break our extraction logic without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thumb Grabber is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including (but not limited to) lost profits, lost data, or copyright claims that arise from how you used a downloaded thumbnail.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Thumb Grabber against any claim arising from your misuse of the service or your violation of these terms — for example, if you used a downloaded thumbnail in a way that infringed someone's copyright and got sued for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Our failure to enforce any part of these terms doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We'll modify the unenforceable part to come as close as possible to its original intent.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
